Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Attends the Antalya Diplomacy Forum

From April 11 to 13, 2025, the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum was held in Antalya, Türkiye. More than 4,000 guests, including over 20 heads of state and government, over 100 ministers, senior representatives of more than 60 international organizations, experts, scholars and business and media representatives from various countries, attended the forum. Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue also attended the meeting upon invitation.

With the theme of "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World", the forum focused on the Gaza conflict, the Syrian issue, security in the Middle East, the Ukraine crisis, global development, climate change and other international and regional hot spots.

Zhai Jun said in his speech that the international community generally believes that the two-State solution is the only realistic way out for the political settlement of the Palestinian question, and all parties need to further build consensus and form synergy amid the current tension. China has put forward a four-point proposal. First, ceasefire, cessation of violence and relief of the humanitarian crisis are the top priorities. Second, promote the post-war governance of Gaza by observing the principle of "Palestinians governing Palestine". Third, vigorously promote Palestine's internal reconciliation. Fourth, grant Palestine more international recognition and support Palestine in becoming a full member State of the United Nations as soon as possible. China is ready to work with the international community to formulate a specific road map and timetable for the implementation of the two-State solution.

During the forum, Zhai Jun also met with senior representatives of Russia, Norway, the European Union and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies respectively for an in-depth exchange of views on regional hotspot issues of common interest and concern.
