Catoctin Mountain Park announces temporary closures January 16 – 19, 2026

Thurmont, Md. - Due to increased security measures, portions of Catoctin Mountain Park will be closed at approximately 2 p.m. on Friday, January 16. Closures are scheduled to continue through approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026.

All trails, parking lots and public use areas will remain open. Park Central Road will be closed between the Hog Rock Parking Lot and the Camp Greentop entrance.

Trail maps are available at trailheads throughout the park. For more information on the availability of park facilities, please call 301-663-9388 or visit the park website at www.nps.gov/cato.
