NE 9th Street Stormwater Improvements Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale and David Mancini & Sons, Inc. are making improvements to the stormwater system along NE 9th Street between NE 2nd Avenue and Progresso Drive in Progresso Village. The work includes:

  • Modifying three drainage wells to help prevent flooding
  • Restoring asphalt as needed

Construction will begin on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and is expected to be completed by late October 2025. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

  • NE 9th Street will be closed from NE 2nd Avenue to Progresso Drive throughout construction.
  • Traffic control personnel will direct traffic near the work area as needed during work hours.
  • Crews will attempt to coordinate with nearby businesses prior to the start of operations that may affect parking access.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
