Savills advising Southend United on stadium redevelopment

The National League team want to deliver a modern, sustainable and commercially vibrant ground that will serve supporters and the wider community for decades to come.

The Savills Chelmsford development team is providing general consultancy advice for the project, focusing on achieving optimal site utilisation and realising best value - allowing the club to work through its options for finalising a development strategy.

The Savills Hotels team was also involved in earlier discussions, providing advice on the hotels market in Southend and whether hotel use was a viable option for the site.

Senior surveyor Ailsa Plummer has been working on the project alongside director Andy Redman.

"This is an exciting step forward for the football club - helping to deliver its goals of moving towards sustainability, improving the matchday experience and making a difference to the local community," she said.

"It's a great project to be part of - supporting regional economic growth - and we hope to remain part of the process, helping the club in its decision making and enabling conversations, through to submission of a planning application and beyond."

Savills has been appointed to the project alongside stadium design specialists AFL Architects, hospitality consultants Stadimax, cost consultants Stace, planners PowerHaus Consultancy and development managers and stadia specialists Wrenbridge Sport.
