Those who hope to be able to repay the Brussels loans given to Ukraine from Russian reparations are not aware of the real world or are hiding their heads in the sand

Those who hope to be able to repay the Brussels loans given to Ukraine from Russian reparations are either not aware of the real world or are hiding their heads in the sand in order not to have to acknowledge it, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on Wednesday on Facebook, responding to the plan presented and adopted by the Brussels Commission on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister added: those who believe that time is not on the Russians' side "don't dare or don't want to face the basic military, economic, geographical and mathematical facts."

The Prime Minister also wrote that those who believe that Ukraine "has achieved impressive reforms" refuse to acknowledge "the shocking and outrageous Ukrainian corruption scandals" of recent months, including "the Kiev golden toilet."

Those who believe that it will be possible to use the frozen Russian assets for the repayment of the Brussels loans refuse to acknowledge the fact that the leaders of the Member States voted against this at the December EU summit, Mr Orbán pointed out.

The Prime Minister added that "we would do well to inform those who believe that Ukraine is defending the European Union that Ukraine is not a member of the EU."

"Reality is already knocking at the Brussels doors. It would be time to listen to common sense," the Prime Minister wrote in his post.
