State Route 24 (Sr-24) Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Closure Bore #2

Tonight, Thursday February 26, 2026, 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans has scheduled a nighttime closure of Bore 2 of the Caldecott Tunnel on eastbound State Route 24 (SR-24) for tunnel washing, routine maintenance, and drainage cleaning.

  • Thursday, February 26, 2026 -closed from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

*During the closure, bore 1 will remain open.

**All work is weather dependent and subject to change**

Caltrans thanks the public for their patience during these closures and remains dedicated to providing safe and reliable infrastructure across the region.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
