Senior Concerns Opens Registration for
32nd Annual Love Run Benefiting Meals On Wheels
One of the largest professionally chip-timed 5K/10K events in the Conejo Valley, the Love Run brings together more than 2,000 participants and 500 spectators each year to support Senior Concerns' Meals On Wheels program. The program delivers more than 70,000 nutritious meals annually to more than 425 homebound seniors in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Oak Park, and Agoura Hills.
The event will feature four race options: the Pennymac 10K, Carol's Tribe 5K, California American Water One-Mile Fun Run, and Kaiser Permanente Virtual Run.
The Love Run also includes a Finish Line Festival with more than 50 booths, a mimosa garden for participants 21 and over, a live DJ, complimentary race photos, and age group awards for the 5K and 10K. Race participants can enjoy a pancake breakfast served by the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis and the return of the "Plenty of Plates" activity sponsored by Los Robles Health System. The first 2,000 registered participants will receive a race T-shirt, finisher medal, and event goodie bag.
"Senior Concerns' Meals On Wheels program delivers more than just a meal; it is a vital safety net," said Andrea Gallagher, president & CEO of Senior Concerns. "For many of the seniors we serve, this is the only nutritious meal they'll have all day and often their only human connection. The Love Run brings our community together to raise essential funds to support critical funding gaps for our Meals On Wheels program and ensures no senior is left hungry, isolated, or without support."
