(Hagatna, Guam) Congressman Moylan is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. This year's event showcased the immense talent and creativity of students from across the island. This year's theme, "Resilient Communities", aimed to explore and celebrate the strength, unity, and adaptability of communities in the face of challenges as well as highlight the positive aspects of how communities thrive, innovate, and support one another, even in good times.
The winners of this year's competition are as follows:
• 1st Place: Luna Thomas from Southern High School, with her piece "Inafamaolek: Healing Together"
• 2nd Place: Tasi Cepeda from Okkodo High School, with her piece "The Small Moments"
• 3rd Place: Connor Canos from Simon Sanchez High School, with his piece "The Last Catch Before the Storm"
Luna Thomas's first-place artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for an entire year alongside the winning pieces from across the nation, showcasing her artistic talent on a national stage. Tasi Cepeda's second-place piece will be showcased in Delegate Moylan's Washington, D.C. Congressional office, while Connor Canos's third-place artwork will be featured in the District Office here in Guam.
"The Congressional Art Competition is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the artistic talent of our youth and showcase Guam's unique spirit. These students have demonstrated incredible skill and creativity. We look forward to seeing the lasting impact of these talented young artists. Congratulations to all the winners and participants," stated Congressman Moylan.
This year's competition was made possible with the support of our esteemed panel of judges. We would like to extend our gratitude to:
