Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place on westbound State Route 152 (SR-152) next week in Merced County.
Caltrans Maintenance Crews will be performing needed pavement resurfacing work on SR-152 near the San Luis Reservoir to safeguard the roadway for motorists and avoid future long-term traffic impacts to the traveling public.
As a result of the pavement work next week, Caltrans will have right lane closures in place on westbound SR-152 from the Romero Visitor Center to Upper Cottonwood beginning Monday, March 23rd through Thursday, March 26, 2026, scheduled daily from 07:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.
Caltrans is advising motorists of potential traffic delays, to exercise patience, and if needed seek alternative routes. Highway overhead and portable message signs will be activated to alert the traveling public of scheduled lane closures and traffic queues.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
