Strong Applauds Committee Passage of Seventh Appropriations Bill

WASHINGTON - Representative Dale Strong highlighted the Appropriations Committee's passage of the Fiscal Year 2027 Legislative Branch Appropriations Bill - marking the seventh of twelve spending bills advanced by the Committee this year.

"We have a fundamental responsibility to fund the government the right way, through regular order and with strict fiscal discipline," said Representative Dale Strong. "Advancing the seventh appropriations bill through committee reflects House Republicans' commitment to ending Washington's usual crisis-governing."

This legislation advances funding to support vital constituent services and enhance security throughout the Capitol complex to ensure a safe and open Capitol for visitors and staff alike.

The bill safeguards American taxpayer dollars and bolsters operational security by:

  • Reducing spending below last year's enacted level for House and joint congressional operations.

  • Requiring unused taxpayer funds allocated for congressional office operations and constituent services to be returned for debt and deficit reduction instead of additional spending.

  • Increasing funding for Capitol Police officers and the civilians who assist their mission.
