Welsh celebrates 30 years of state service

Becky Welsh, Records and Workflow Management Administrator in the Kansas Department of Transportation's Division of Information Technology Services, has achieved a career milestone and is celebrating 30 years of valued service to the state of Kansas.

Welsh started with KDOT in 1996 in the Computer Services Bureau. She advanced to the Division of Administration and then received several advancements in the Materials and Research Bureau, where she wrote numerous documents and coordinated research efforts. She also assisted with the development of the electronic catalog for the KDOT Library. In 2017, she was named the Crew Card Administrator for the Operations Division, the position she held until being promoted in 2023 to her current position.

In her job, she supports all electronic forms and workflow for the agency. She works with KDOT employees across the state with timesheets and forms for personnel, travel and fiscal as well as assists with OnBase, KeyStone and Personnel Portal applications.

She received the KDOT Orange Hero Award in 2006 and was a member of the Certified Public Manager Program in 2007.

Welsh and her husband, Dan, have a daughter, Molly, and a grandson, Truett, in Topeka, and a son, Ryan, in Pensacola, Florida. They reside in Oskaloosa.
