Oakland County Prosecutor Charges Two Massage Parlor Operators In Latest Human Trafficking Case

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2025

PONTIAC, Mich. - Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD charged Runping "Lisa" Huang and Chunxiu "Eva" Xu with multiple human trafficking related charges stemming from allegations of sexual services at two metro Detroit massage parlors.

Huang is charged with Human Trafficking Enterprise-Forced Labor, Human Trafficking Enterprise-Commercial Sexual Activity, Prostitution-Accepting Earnings, and Transporting Person for Purpose of Prostitution. Xu is charged with Human Trafficking Enterprise-Forced Labor and Transporting Person for Purpose of Prostitution.

Responding to a confidential tip, the SONIC Task Force investigated several massage parlors operated by the defendants. Victims reported they were ordered to provide sexual services and made to work 12-hour days, seven days a week. Victims did not speak English, had no access to transportation, and allegedly were made to turn over earnings to defendant Huang. Police from Novi, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills, and Shelby Township assisted in the apprehension of defendants.

"For too long human trafficking festered in the shadows of our communities while victims were fearful of being treated like criminals." said Prosecutor Karen McDonald. "Law enforcement is working together to attack this problem with an unprecedented urgency. We will keep fighting to hold traffickers accountable and free victims."

Both defendants were arraigned in separate hearings on May 31. Huang is being held on a $50,000 cash or surety bond. Xu is being held on a $150,000 cash or surety bond.

This case is a part of the broader effort to eliminate human trafficking in Oakland County and hold traffickers accountable. The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office Trafficking Unit and the Human Trafficking Task Force work together across jurisdictions to coordinate investigations and prosecutions of high-level traffickers. Since November 2024, 27 cases have been brought against human traffickers in Oakland County.
