DOSWELL, VA - Governor Abigail Spanberger yesterday joined families at the State Fair of Virginia to celebrate the Commonwealth and highlight her continued focus on supporting the family farmers and producers who power Virginia agriculture.
In Doswell, Governor Spanberger met with students from Virginia FFA and 4-H programs, toured exhibits with the Virginia Farm Bureau, and spoke with representatives from the grain, soybean, peanut, and tobacco industries about the challenges they're facing and how the state can help strengthen Virginia's agricultural communities.
"The State Fair of Virginia is a wonderful opportunity to bring Virginians together and celebrate the people and traditions that make our Commonwealth special," said Governor Abigail Spanberger. "From supporting local small businesses to enjoying the incredible food, entertainment, and attractions on offer, the State Fair showcases the very best of Virginia. I encourage families across the Commonwealth who have not yet visited to come out, make memories, and enjoy the State Fair this weekend!"
The State Fair of Virginia - started in 1854 - is annually held each September at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell. The 2026 State Fair runs from September 25 through October 4.
