Vienna, VA. - January 23, 2025 - Everbridge, Inc., the global leader in critical event management (CEM) and national public warning solutions, today announced the release of its 2025 Global Enterprise Resilience Report. The report reveals that industry leaders foresee increasingly severe and frequent threats, prompting organizations to invest in business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) programs to better prepare for future challenges.
"Organizations today have a clear-eyed view of the complex threat landscape and recognize the critical need for a proactive, flexible approach to readiness. This is essential to ensuring operational continuity and long-term success," said David Alexander, Chief Marketing Officer at Everbridge. "We are proud to offer the industry's only end-to-end, technology-enabled BCDR solution to help businesses navigate these uncertain times with confidence."
The 2025 Global Enterprise Resilience Report is the third annual survey of over 130 risk and security professionals, highlighting trends in corporate readiness and the evolving risk environment. The analysis incorporates insights derived from Everbridge's extensive work with professionals at the forefront of BCDR efforts.
This year's survey underscores the growing concern over cybercrime, with 59 percent of respondents identifying it as their greatest risk. Furthermore, 75 percent believe cybercrime is either more likely or somewhat more likely to occur over the next 24 months compared to the previous two years. Economic downturns and natural disasters also remain top concerns, with one in four respondents ranking these events among their greatest risks. In addition, 49 percent of respondents predict an increase in business disruptions due to domestic and global tensions over the next five years.
Given this heightened threat environment, organizations are strengthening their resilience programs. Seventy-five percent of respondents agree or strongly agree that their companies are allocating the necessary resources to these efforts - a 22 percent increase over last year. However, challenges persist, particularly regarding automation and achieving higher levels of readiness.
"Our research found that 40 percent of BCDR professionals cite a 'lack of automation' as the single greatest pain point in their programs," continued Alexander. "Everbridge is committed to equipping organizations with intelligent, end-to-end solutions to help them anticipate, mitigate, respond to, and recover stronger from critical events."
