Alachua County is inviting young residents to apply for volunteer positions on several county advisory boards. This initiative provides youth, ages 16 to 21 at the time of appointment, with the opportunity to share their perspectives, develop leadership skills, and play an active role in shaping local policies that impact their community and future.
Youth members are being sought to serve on the following advisory boards:
"Youth voices bring fresh ideas and energy to our community discussions," said Commission Chair Ken Cornell. "By serving on an advisory board, young people can help shape policies that impact their future while learning about civic leadership and public service."
Advisory board members attend regular meetings, review agenda materials, and contribute to recommendations presented to the County Commission. The commission makes appointments, and all meetings are open to the public.
Interested youth are encouraged to apply online.
