Monumental Sports Network to Air “A-10 Hoops Talk: Beyond the Paint”

Interview show covering Atlantic 10 basketball to air weekly on MNMT leading up to conference's championship tournament at Capital One Arena in March

Washington, D.C. (January 8, 2025) - Monumental Sports Network(MNMT) announced today that the local, independent media platform will broadcast A-10 Hoops Talk: Beyond the Paint, a nine-episode interview show that will feature high-profile guests and compelling footage covering Atlantic 10 (A-10) college basketball.

The brand-new program will debut on MNMT on Sunday, January 12 at 11:30 AM and the premiere will feature conversations with some of the greatest players in A-10 history, including conference players of the year Aaron McKie, TJ Cline, David West, and Jameer Nelson as they reminisce about their collegiate playing days. Subsequent episodes of A-10 Hoops Talk will air on MNMT each Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 AM leading up to the 2025 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship that will be played March 12-16 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Each episode will be 30 minutes long.

A-10 Hoops Talkwill be available both on linear tv and via MNMT's digital streaming platform within the network's footprint. A-10 Hoops Talkis hosted by nationally renowned broadcaster Tom McCarthy and former national men's basketball coach of the year Phil Martelli. Designed as a television version of a podcast, the show will explore various topics at the heart of college basketball, featuring prominent players, coaches, media, and administrators from across the country to get a deeper understanding of the Atlantic 10's prominence within the fabric of college basketball and the deep history of the league. Compelling topics include great A-10 head coaches and former players, rivalries and traditions across the conference, NIL, the transfer portal, mental health awareness, the strength of the A-10 women's basketball programs, and great Atlantic 10 championship moments.

Guests slated to appear on the show feature prominent names throughout the college basketball world, including Shaka Smart, Chris Mooney, Mark Schmidt, Susie McConnell Serio, Jay Bilas, Debbie Antonelli, Jameer Nelson, Aaron McKie, Briante Weber, Lou Roe, Frank Martin, Cindy Griffin, Sean and Archie Miller, and Mike Jarvis.

In November, MNMT announceda robust 2024-25 college basketball schedule, featuring 67 games through partnerships with Atlantic 10 schools George Washington University, University of Richmond, and George Mason University, as well as HBCU GO, Hampton University, and Towson University. That total represents the most college basketball games to air on the network during a single season and includes 31 women's games and 38 games featuring HBCUs.

In addition to the network's college basketball coverage, Monumental Sports Network is the exclusive local television media rights holder for the NBA's Washington Wizards, NHL's Washington Capitals, WNBA's Washington Mystics, and NBA G League's Capital City Go-Go.
