Cherokee Nation launches new website, Cherokee.gov

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Cherokee Nation recently launched its new official website, Cherokee.gov, which replaces the tribe's former site, Cherokee.org. The new site offers citizens a more secure, modern and user-friendly way to access tribal services, programs and information.

"Cherokee.gov reflects our commitment to making government more accessible and more secure for every Cherokee Nation citizen," said Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. "Whether someone is looking for healthcare resources, applying for an assistance program or learning more about their government, this new website makes that process simpler and puts citizens first."

Cherokee.gov features streamlined navigation organized around life events, making it easier for citizens to locate programs, applications and assistance without needing to know which department provides them. Improved search and discovery tools allow citizens to find information faster than on the former site, and the platform consolidates government functions, executive updates and cultural resources into a single, citizen-focused destination.

The new site also features a fully mobile-friendly, modern design, allowing citizens to easily navigate Cherokee Nation services from any device.

Moving from Cherokee.org to Cherokee.gov also significantly increases security for citizens. Because only verified government entities can obtain and operate .gov domains, the new address reduces the risk of spoofing, phishing and unauthorized impersonation, giving citizens a trusted, authenticated digital front door to their government.

"This new website is about meeting citizens where they are and ensuring they can trust the information they find," said Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner. "With Cherokee.gov, we are strengthening that trust while giving citizens a modern tool that works for them, no matter what device they are using."

Cherokee.gov is live now. Citizens are encouraged to update their bookmarks and visit the new site to explore its features.
