Chair Cassidy, Graham, Republican Colleagues Introduce Religious Education Week Resolution

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, and Lindsey Graham (R-SC), along with Republican colleagues introduce a resolution declaring October 5th - 11th 2025 as "Religious Education Week," to recognize the millions of families that enroll their children in religious education institutions.

"Parents should be able to choose the best educational environment for their child," said Dr. Cassidy. "Religious education institutions give parents more options, empowering them to make the best decision for their child."

"South Carolina's children are our greatest resource and future leaders," said Senator Graham. "I am proud to introduce this resolution to emphasize the importance of continued religious education and the organizations who provide it."

Cassidy and Graham are joined by Jim Banks (R-IN), John Barrasso (R-WY), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Katie Britt (R-AL), Ted Budd (R-NC), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), John Cornyn (R-TX), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Mike Crapo (R-ID), John Curtis (R-UT), Steve Daines (R-MT), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), John Kennedy (R-LA), James Lankford (R-OK), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Ashley Moody (R-FL), James Risch (R-ID), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Rick Scott (R-FL), Tim Scott (R-SC), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) and Todd Young (R-IN).

This resolution is also supported by Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty, Agudath Israel of America, Coalition for Jewish Values, Foundation for American Christian Education, School Time Bible Ministries, Association of Christian Schools International and Catholic Education Partners Inc.
