State Police arrest Troy man for DWI and felony drug possession

On November 17, 2024, State Police of Brunswick arrested Marquis D. Venable, 36, of Troy, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree, Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On November 17, 2024, at about 2:25 a.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on Oakwood Avenue in Brunswick, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Venable. He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, and Controlled Substances were discovered in the vehicle.

Venable was transported to SP Brunswick for processing, where he recorded a 0.10% BAC. While in custody, it was discovered Venable allegedly had secreted felony-weight narcotics in his body, which he attempted to destroy.

Venable was arraigned at the Troy City Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail.
