Sonoma Raceway is proud to announce the 2026 Sonoma Drags season, marking the 38th year of grassroots drag racing at the world-class facility and continuing a long-standing tradition of accessible, high-energy competition in Northern California.
The 2026 schedule features 15 total drag racing events spanning from February through November, including Sonoma Drags and Bracket Drags, giving racers and fans multiple opportunities to experience side-by-side drag racing action throughout the year.
Anchoring the summer calendar once again are two marquee NHRA events: the NHRA Division 7 Drag Races in mid-July, followed immediately by the DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals, one of the most anticipated motorsports weekends on the West Coast.
Sonoma Drags remains a cornerstone of Sonoma Raceway's drag racing program, welcoming drivers of all skill levels to compete in a safe, competitive, and fan-friendly environment. Bracket Drags continue to provide racers with a consistency-based format that emphasizes precision and strategy, while Sonoma Drags delivers classic heads-up excitement.
The ever-popular Top The Cops® program also returns in 2026, giving high school students the chance to drag race local law enforcement, competing in full uniform in their official vehicles, on the same drag strip as the top professional racing series for a unique and friendly showdown. The program is designed to foster respect, promote safety, and celebrate a shared love of speed - on the track, not the streets.
Whether you're behind the wheel or cheering from the stands, Sonoma Drags is your ticket to an adrenaline-filled mid-week escape. Racing starts at just $60 for advanced registration or purchase at the gate, $20 to race with a high school ID, $20 for spectators at the gate, and kids 12 and under are free, making it the perfect family outing.
