The City is opening overnight emergency warming tents and a bus in response to freezing temperatures in Victoria.
A large heated tent and a bus will be open tonight, February 17, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. at St. John the Divine Church parking lot on Mason St. at Quadra St. A tent will be open at Bridgehead Green on Wharf Street at the foot of Johnson Street across from the Salvation Army ARC.
Snacks and hot drinks are available. Well-behaved pets are welcome in the warming tent.
City warming tents and buses open when all other shelters are full, exposure risks are active and there are people in need with nowhere else to seek shelter.

As part of the Emergency Weather Response, our partners at the Salvation Army ARC are adding 30 extra shelter mats this evening at 525 Johnson Street from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. The shelter is co ed. No pets please.
