Fall 2025 Safety Grade is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety
BRISTOL, PA (11/18/2025) - Lower Bucks Hospital has proudly achieved an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a respected independent national nonprofit watchdog dedicated to promoting patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an "A," "B," "C," "D" or "F" grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Lower Bucks Hospital has received this top grade, underscoring its unwavering dedication to patient safety. Notably, Lower Bucks Hospital is the only hospital within a 10-mile radius to earn an "A" grade in the Fall 2025 Leapfrog Award, solidifying its position as a leader in healthcare excellence in the region.
"Earning an 'A' Grade means Lower Bucks Hospital made a true commitment to put patient safety first," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement."
Michael Motte, CEO of Lower Bucks Hospital, expressed his pride in the team's accomplishments: "This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of every member of our hospital community. Our commitment to patient safety is not just a goal; it's a core value that drives us to continuously improve our practices. We have implemented rigorous safety protocols, including safe medication administration, comprehensive infection prevention strategies, and fall prevention initiatives, all aimed at ensuring our patients receive the best care possible."
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
