Over 2,200 Community Members Volunteered More Than 83,000 Hours Last Year
HENDERSON, Nev. (April 21, 2026) - The City of Henderson honored the extraordinary individuals who make a significant community impact during a volunteer recognition luncheon held Monday in celebration of National Volunteer Week.
Each April, the City expresses its gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who embody its commitment to High Performing Public Service, helping make Henderson a place people are proud to call home.
Last year, 2,205 community members volunteered 83,639 hours of service across departments, including Parks and Recreation, Animal Protective Services, and Police. Their efforts not only enhance City events and services but also represent a cost savings of more than $2.5 million.
"One of our greatest assets is our sense of community," said Henderson City Manager/CEO Stephanie Garcia-Vause. "I am incredibly grateful to the community members who give their time to make Henderson a premier place to live. National Volunteer Week is the perfect time to thank them for their collaborative spirit and outstanding service throughout the City."To learn more about our volunteer program, visit Volunteer Connection.
