Harrisburg men’s basketball captures fourth United East Championship

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team beat Cairn University 72-71 on Saturday to secure the United East Championship title, capturing the program's fourth conference title in the last six seasons.

Jordan Spencer was named the United East Championship Tournament MVP after tallying 12 points and five rebounds.

With the win, Penn State Harrisburg secured the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, returning for the fourth time since the 2020 season. 

The team will face Tufts University at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, in the first round of the Division III Championship. The game will be held on the Tufts campus. Winners of first round games will face off in the second round Saturday, March 7.
