Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Alaska Department of Fish and Game

PROJECT NAME: ADL 416544

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The proposed easement begins near Milepost 1408 of the Alaska Highway, leading south-southwest and terminating at Kenna Lake, as shown on Appendix A.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

Section 34 of Township 11 South, Range 11 East, Fairbanks Meridian

Sections 25, 35, and 36 of Township 12 South, Range 12 East, Fairbanks Meridian

Sections 3, 4, 8, 9, 16, 17, 19, 20, and 30 of Township 12 South, Range 12 East, Fairbanks Meridian

Sections 1, 2, 10, 11, 15, 16, 21, 22, 28, 32, 33, and 34 of Township 13 South, Range 11 East, Fairbanks Meridian

Sections 2, 3, and 11 of Township 14 South, Range 11 East, Fairbanks Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) has applied for a public access easement encompassing an existing trail, measuring 25 feet wide and approximately 28 miles long, more or less, as shown on Attachment A. The proposed easement would encompass an existing trail and would originate at the south end of the 100' wide plated public access easement (page 2 of ASLS 79-120), commonly known as 1408 Road, and terminate at Kenna Lake.

PROPOSED ACTIVITY: DMLW is considering granting a 30' wide public access easement for the requested length.

REQUESTED TERM: Indefinitely or until no longer needed.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: February 8, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
