Most Wanted Fugitive Arrested on Sex Crimes Indictment

MNPD officers assigned to the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force this afternoon apprehended a man on the city's most wanted list who is charged with sex crimes against a teenage girl he supervised at an 8th Avenue South fast-food restaurant.

Antonio J. Simpson, 46, faces a grand jury indictment charging him with four counts of statutory rape by an authority figure, two counts of solicitation of a minor related to statutory rape, and sexual battery by an authority figure.

The victim and her legal guardian reported the allegations against Simpson in January, prompting an investigation by the MNPD's Youth Services Division.

Simpson was located and arrested at an apartment off Stewarts Ferry Pike. Found inside the apartment were six guns and ammunition. Two of the firearms, an AR rifle and a revolver, are listed as stolen from the Nashville area.

Simpson's bond on the indictment has been set by a Criminal Court judge at $150,000. Charges related to the guns are pending.
