PLANO, Texas (Sept. 19, 2024) - The 2025 Toyota Corolla family is getting hotter with the addition of the new Corolla FX special edition. Packed with some new sporty features, the Corolla FX special edition gives customers a new bold and athletic grade in a Corolla line up of great affordable options to choose from.

The 2025 Toyota Corolla is available in four grades: LE, SE, FX special edition and XSE. Standard features include a 4.2-inch multi-information display (MID), four USB-C ports for charging and Toyota Audio Multimedia with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ compatibility.

The 2025 Toyota Corolla also comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which comes with leading safety features like Lane Departure Assist with Steering Assist and Proactive Driving Assist, which includes Obstacle Anticipation Assist and Deceleration Assist.

Impressive features include a new 10.5-inch multimedia screen that is available on the SE grade and standard on the FX special edition and the XSE grade. Other available upgrades include a Qi wireless charger, Blind Spot Monitor and a power tilt sliding moonroof.

Under the hood of Corolla gas models is a 2.0L, Dynamic Force 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine. The engine uses Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence to achieve 169 horsepower and 151 lb.-ft. of torque. The Toyota Corolla performs great and has an EPA -estimated 32 city/41 highway/35 combined MPG rating on the Corolla LE grade.

Platform & Mechanical
Corolla's diverse model variety is made possible by the TNGA-C platform. A super-rigid structure, low center of gravity and highly refined tuning of the MacPherson-type strut front suspension and available multi-link rear suspension endow all Corolla models with exemplary handling agility, ride comfort and distinctive driving personality.

Corolla's cabin is a sanctuary where powertrain and road noise have been minimized thanks to the widespread use of sound-absorbing materials, including Thinsulate® insulation, sealants, foams and silencer pads. The TNGA-C platform employs seals in its body panel gaps to help insulate noise penetration and enhance air-sealing performance. As one example, the floor silencer pad is one large piece, instead of many smaller segments.

In all 2025 Corolla gas engine models, the standard Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission gives a distinct performance feel thanks to a gearset used as a "first" gear for start-off acceleration, before seamlessly handing off to the CVT's pulley system. Synchronization of the increasing engine revs and vehicle speed provides a linear acceleration feel. Combined with enhanced Sport mode tuning, the XSE grade also has paddle shifters to engage 10 pre-set ratios to offer a sportier driving experience.

Sharp Style
Every grade of Corolla offers something different starting with the front fascia. The LE grade features a horizontal front grill with slits and vertical gradation for a more refined look while the sport grades have a sport mesh gloss black grille and a rear sport diffuser to give the Corolla a more athletic and powerful feel.

On the LE, customers can find 16-inch steel wheels while the sport grades come with 18-inch graphite-colored alloy wheels that complement the sleek lines of the Corolla's profile.

Exterior color options include Blueprint, Wind Chill Pearl, Ice Cap, Ruby Flare Pearl, Underground, Classic Silver Metallic, Celestite and Midnight Black Metallic. The SE and the XSE add an available two-tone look with Ice Cap, Ruby Flare Pearl, Wind Chill Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Celestite and Underground.

FX Special Edition
For 2025, the Corolla family is getting even better with the addition of the Corolla FX Special Edition. A fun and sporty blast from the past, the new Corolla FX Special Edition shares the name with the iconic Corolla FX16 that debuted in 1987. Built off the SE grade, the Corolla FX Special Edition will feature an FX-enhanced rear spoiler, lowering springs, and 18-inch satin black finished alloy wheels with machined accents. Black accents can be found throughout the exterior like on the roof, badging, mirror caps, and taillamps.

Inside the Corolla FX Special Edition are Moonstone sport fabric seats with orange stitching and a 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia screen that comes standard for all aboard to enjoy. The Electric Power Steering has also been tuned for the ultimate sporty feel.

The 2025 Toyota Corolla FX Special Edition will be available in Midnight Black Metallic, Ice Cap with a Midnight Metallic Black roof, and Underground with a Midnight Metallic Black roof.

Enhanced Audio Multimedia Experience
The 2025 Corolla comes standard with an 8-in Toyota Audio Multimedia system, while the all-new 10.5-in Audio Multimedia screen upgrade is available on SE and standard on FX and XSE.

The Toyota Audio Multimedia system allows dual Bluetooth® phone connectivity. The 30 day/3GB Wi-Fi Connect trial* offers 4G connectivity for up to five devices, turning the car into an AT&T Hotspot, along with the ability to link customers' separate Apple Music® and Amazon Music subscriptions to the vehicle with the Integrated Streaming* service (1 month trial included). This augments the already robust audio playback ability that includes HD Radio, USB data and a SiriusXM® 3-month trial subscription.

The Corolla's audio system includes six speakers standard. The XSE grade kicks it up a notch with the available JBL® Premium Audio system with nine speakers, subwoofers and an 800-watt amplifier.

With an available Drive Connect* trial or subscription, drivers can interact with the Toyota Audio Multimedia system through touch and voice activation. With Intelligent Assistant available through Drive Connect, simple phrases like "Hey Toyota" awakens the system for voice-activated commands to search for directions, find Points of Interest (POI), adjust audio controls, change the cabin temperatures and more. Over-the-Air (OTA) updates are also included with an active Drive Connect trial or subscription.

Other Connected Services* on the Toyota Corolla include:

  • Safety Connect: includes an Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), 24/7 Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification and Stolen Vehicle Locator (includes up to a 10-year trial).
  • Service Connect: provides drivers with the capability to receive Vehicle Health Reports, Maintenance Alerts and other reminders (includes up to a 10-year trial).

Safety & Convenience
The Toyota Corolla comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. The suite includes:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) is designed to help detect a vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, or motorcyclist and provide an audible/visual forward-collision warning under certain circumstances. If you don't react, the system is designed to provide automatic emergency braking.
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is an adaptive cruise control system that is designed to be set at speeds above 20 mph. DRCC uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you.
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist: Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) detects lane markings or the road's edge at speeds above 30 mph. LDA w/SA is designed to provide an audible/visual warning if an inadvertent lane departure is detected. If no corrective action is taken, Steering Assist is designed to provide gentle corrective steering for lane-keeping assistance.
  • Lane Tracing Assist: Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) is designed to help keep the vehicle in the center of a lane. LTA assists the driver with steering control while DRCC is in use.
  • Road Sign Assist: Road Sign Assist (RSA) uses the forward-facing camera to recognize specific road signs, such as speed limit, stop, and yield signs. RSA provides sign information to the driver via the Multi-Information Display.
  • Automatic High Beams: Automatic High Beams (AHB) is designed to detect headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles. AHB automatically toggles between high and low beams as appropriate.
  • Proactive Driving Assist: Proactive Driving Assist (PDA) uses the vehicle's camera and radar, when system operating conditions are met, to provide gentle braking and/or steering to support driving tasks such as distance control between your vehicle and a preceding vehicle, pedestrian, or bicyclist. PDA can also provide gentle braking into curves.
