CVRep in Downtown Cathedral City Announces Star-Studded 2025-2026 Season with Tony Award Winners

Four acclaimed productions coming to Downtown Cathedral City theater

Coachella Valley Repertory has unveiled an exciting 2025-2026 season featuring four powerhouse productions, including the regional premiere of the six-time Tony Award-winning musical "Dear Evan Hansen."

The Cathedral City theater will kick off its season in December with "Dear Evan Hansen," the deeply moving contemporary musical about a socially anxious high school senior. Winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, along with a Grammy Award and Olivier Award, this production marks its regional premiere at CVRep.

"The generosity and graciousness of our patrons, donors, and media inspire us to plan seasons that are entertaining, intriguing, and produced with the highest standards of professionalism and creativity," said CVRep Executive Artistic Director Adam Karsten.

Full Season Lineup:

Dear Evan Hansen - December 3-21, 2025
The Washington Post called it "one of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history." This intimate CVRep production will bring new depth to the story of connection, isolation, and the consequences of our actions.

One Man, Two Guvnors - January 14-February 1, 2026
This ingenious British comedy reimagines a classic Italian farce with music, laughs, and an absolutely wild plot involving mistaken identities, gangsters, and romance. The Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Award winner promises to be a "wild and crazy ride."

Guys and Dolls - February 25-March 15, 2026
The perfect musical comedy returns to CVRep with this tale of gamblers, missionaries, and unlikely romance set in Prohibition-era New York. This beloved Broadway classic ran for 1,200 performances when it originally opened in 1950.

Ernest Shackleton Loves Me - April 22-May 10, 2026
From Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro comes this wildly inventive romantic comedy about a video game composer who connects across time with the famous polar explorer. Perfect for fans who loved CVRep's production of "The 39 Steps."

Each production will run for three weeks, with performances Wednesday through Sunday. Season subscriptions range from $250-$370 and are available now, while single tickets ($60-$110) go on sale August 1.

CVRep offers special Sneak Preview performances on the first Wednesday of each show, plus free Talk Back sessions after Thursday performances where audiences can discuss the productions with cast and creative teams.
