Driving progress: Our roadmap to delivering advanced synthetic graphite at scale

We plan to leverage our existing U.S. Gulf Coast facilities to produce advanced coke, the precursor for synthetic graphite. The advanced coke will be converted to advanced synthetic graphite leveraging assets and proprietary technology from our recent acquisition of Superior Graphite. These efforts highlight the significant investments in technology and infrastructure we're making to strengthen our competitive advantage and help accelerate growth across the industry. Learn more about our process.

Our advanced synthetic graphite is engineered to deliver up to 30% higher usable capacity, faster charging, and up to 4x longer battery life compared to industry graphite.

This year, we plan to launch a demonstration-scale pilot unit in the U.S.-a critical step toward validating performance, generating customer samples, and proving technology readiness.

To support that work, we recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with ACP Technologies at their site in Ashland, Kentucky. Through this collaboration, ExxonMobil will produce graphite precursors that will be converted into advanced synthetic graphite.
