Vending Show held in Paris

From 25 to 27 June, the Vending Show took place in the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre in Paris, with the EVA holding a series of meetings and presentations, including a meeting of the Executive Committee and of the machine manufacturers (EVMMA). The show furthermore provided a good opportunity to catch up with members, discuss developments and present our latest services on our stand.

On Thursday 26 June Director General, Erwin Wetzel, made a speech in the 'Vending square' area entitled, "Smart Vending and the New EU Rules: Turning Compliance into Opportunity." This one-hour sessionexplored with attendees the latest EU policies on artificial intelligence and data handling which are reshaping how vending operators and manufacturers design and manage connected machines. The session looked at the practical impacts of these new rules: how vending businesses can navigate risks, unlock the value of machine-generated data, and turn regulatory challenges into a competitive advantage.

The EVA Technical and Electronic Payment Committees discussed this very topic at a recent meeting in Brussels, and it is clear that as the industry becomes more connected, there are also additional legislative challenges to be aware of to ensure appropriate compliance.

The EVA had productive discussions with many colleagues and players interested in the sector, and was also pleased to discuss latest developments in the French market with colleagues from NAVSA (the French Vending Association). NAVSA has communicated that the next edition of the Vending Show is scheduled to take place in 2027.
