MetroHealth, Recovery Resources Announce Transition Plan

CLEVELAND - To preserve access to essential mental healthcare across Cuyahoga County, Recovery Resources plans to transition its clinical services and other programming to The MetroHealth System and other trusted community providers. This decision, made in close partnership with MetroHealth, reflects both organizations' shared commitment to uninterrupted care and long-term support for the individuals and families they serve.

The transition is occurring over two phases:

• Phase One: Effective October 1, Recovery Resources' clinical services officially transitioned to MetroHealth. This integration allows clients to receive in-person care at MetroHealth's network of community-based clinics - an expansion from the largely virtual format offered by Recovery Resources. Teams from both organizations are working closely with clients to ensure a seamless transition.
  
• Phase Two: Recovery Resources is collaborating with its funding partners, including the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County, to transition its remaining programs - such as its housing, employment and community mental health initiatives - to MetroHealth and other providers interested in sustaining this essential work.

As a result, Recovery Resources will conclude all direct services and programming by December 31 and plans to sunset the organization by summer 2026.

MetroHealth first partnered with Recovery Resources in 2018 as part of a strategic effort to stabilize the behavioral health nonprofit's operations and expand access to mental healthcare in Cuyahoga County. Amid growing financial pressures, transitioning services to MetroHealth and other community agencies proved to be the most sustainable path forward.
