“I Voted” sticker design contest grows to over 2,000 submissions in second year

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of State (MDOS) received 2,095 submissions to its "I Voted" sticker design contest by the May 1 deadline, four times the number of entries from the first contest in the 2024 presidential election year.

"Thank you to the more than 2,000 Michigan artists who showcased their creativity in record numbers for this year's 'I Voted' sticker design contest," said Deputy Secretary of State Aghogho Edevbie. "This is an incredible milestone that shows all Michiganders can come together to support our state's democracy. Now, let's build on that excitement this election year by voting and making our voices heard."

Michiganders entered the contest in one of the three categories: elementary/middle school (grades K-8), high school (grades 9-12), or general entry (open to Michigan residents of all ages). The Michigan Collegiate Student Advisory Task Force will now narrow the submissions down to 75 semifinalists, 25 from each category, before public voting opens on June 1.

Winners will be announced later this summer and will receive special recognition from MDOS. The winning sticker designs will be provided to local election clerks for the November 2026 Election to give voters in their jurisdictions.
