On 10 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys, spoke by telephone with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhu. During the conversation, the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf regions was discussed.
Lithuania strongly condemns Iran's attacks on Qatar and other countries in the region and stands in solidarity with the affected countries.
"Iran's attacks on Qatar and other states in the region are not only a gross violation of international law and sovereignty, but also a deliberate attempt to destabilise the region, the consequences of which inevitably extend beyond the Middle East," Budrys said.
During the conversation, the Ministers also discussed regional security dynamics and international efforts to prevent a wider escalation of the conflict.
The Minister underlined that Lithuania is in constant dialogue with allies and partners in the region.
