Celebrating Women on March 18

The President's Commission on the Status of Women at Millersville University is hosting a celebration of International Women's Day on March 18 from 1 to 4 p.m with an event that brings the campus and local community together to celebrate women's voices and experiences.

The celebration begins with a welcome provided by Millersville University's own first lady, Dr. Judith Wubah, in the multi purpose room in the Student Memorial Center. A free lunch will be provided by Cocina Mexicana, a local, woman-owned restaurant. Guests can then enjoy a merengue dance performance by student Elcy Reynoso Aquino and her dance partner, Rony Ortiz.

Dr. Nadine Garner, associate professor in the psychology department, will deliver the keynote address. Affinity-based breakout discussions will also take place, followed by a panel of of MU students, staff and faculty. Free popcorn, cupcakes and drinks will be available to attendees and guests can then enjoy a market featuring women-owned businesses to shop and support.
