CHICAGO, IL - The U.S. Postal Inspection Service announces the arrests of six alleged members of an identity theft and credit card fraud ring in Chicago on June 30, 2026, following an extensive investigation led by the law enforcement agency.

An indictment unsealed in the U.S. District Court in Hammond, IN, alleges Chicago residents Maurice Cullum, 35, Terrance Williams, 36, Dionna Moss, 33, Iyesha Johnson, 33, Tatiana Cullum, 30, and Charmaine Woodfork, 40 opened
credit cards using stolen personally identifiable information at various stores throughout the United States. Once approved, the alleged received the fraudulent credit cards via the U.S. Postal Service. All members of the fraud ring were charged with conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud affecting a financial institution. Maurice Cullum and Williams face additional charges of aggravated identity theft.

"Organized identity theft and fraud rings have no place in our communities," said Nicholas Bucciarelli, inspector in charge of the Chicago Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. "Following an aggressive investigation by postal inspectors, these six arrests serve notice that we will relentlessly hunt down those who exploit financial institutions and victimize consumers." The U.S. Postal Inspection Service appreciates its continued partnership with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Indiana throughout this investigation.

It is important to note that criminal charges are only allegations against a person. Every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
