A&M-Texarkana Launches New Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Degree for the Upcoming Fall 2025 Semester

TEXARKANA, Texas - Texas A&M University-Texarkana recently announced that a new undergraduate degree program in computer engineering has received final approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and will begin admitting students for the upcoming Fall 2025 semester.

Blending the fundamentals of electrical engineering with real-world computer science applications, this program empowers students to master everything from embedded systems and digital logic to hardware-software integration and computer architecture, as well as study cutting-edge topics like robotics, machine learning, computer vision, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Computer engineering students build a rock-solid foundation in calculus, physics, programming, and core engineering principles, followed by advanced topics like signals and systems, electronics, and data communications-all reinforced through interactive labs and project-based learning.

"We are thrilled to be adding a bachelor's degree in computer engineering to our expanding catalog of academic programs," said Dr. Ross Alexander, A&M-Texarkana President. "We are intentional about which academic programs we bring to the university. We spend time with area business and industry leaders to find out what their needs are. Then we build high-quality academic programs that will fill a local or regional need while providing students a direct pathway to high-paying jobs."
