The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission is pleased to announce that Kid Café, a free after-school meal program for youth ages 18 and under, is now underway. In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, No Kid Hungry, and Share Our Strength, the program ensures that low-income children at afterschool program sites across New Orleans have access to nutritious meals during the school year.
Kid Café meals are available Mon. through Fri. from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the following NORD Commission recreation centers in New Orleans:
"This free meal program is a crucial part of our commitment to ensuring that every young person in New Orleans has the nourishment they need to succeed," said Larry Barabino, Jr., CEO of the NORD Commission. "By providing these meals at no cost, we are helping to eliminate barriers for families and supporting the health and well-being of our youth."
Kid Café is part of NORD Commission's broader mission to provide accessible recreational and cultural opportunities, while addressing critical needs in the community.
