Newton Town Two Loans

NJWBJuly 2nd, 2025

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Town of Newton recently closed on two loans from the NJ Water Bank totaling $3.8 million. The first loan will fund sewer line repairs designed to reduce infiltration and exfiltration in the sewer system, thereby improving water efficiency. The second loan will support the cleaning of tanks and storage vessels at the Morris Lake Water Treatment Plant Clearwell and the High Street Water Storage Tank. Periodic cleaning is required to remove sediment and debris that naturally accumulate over time, helping to maintain water quality and system performance.
