Lubbock - TxDOT invites citizens to attend a public meeting to view information on a proposed project to rebuild the south Loop 289 bridge at Slide Road.
The in-person, open-house style public meeting will be held from 5:30-7 p.m., on Thursday, June 18, in the TxDOT Training Center Mesquite Room, located at 135 Slaton Road, Lubbock, Texas. The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions and provide feedback. TxDOT staff will be present and provide information, answer questions and receive comments on plans for a proposed project to replace the bridge structure.
Citizens may also logon to a virtual meeting consisting of a pre-recorded video presentation. The presentation will be posted online at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at TxDOT.gov. Citizens can search for the meeting by entering "SL 289 Bridge Replacement" in the key word search engine.
Public comments can be submitted until Monday, July 13, 2026, by email, or by mail to the Lubbock District, Attn: ENV Office/SL 289 Bridge Replacement Project, at 135 Slaton Road Lubbock, TX, 79404.
