Ohio House Passes Bill Honoring Patrolman Earl W. Casterline

State Representative Kevin Miller (R-Newark) announced that the Ohio House of Representatives this week passed House Bill 432, legislation that designates a portion of East Kemper Road in Hamilton County as the "Patrolman Earl W. Casterline Memorial Highway."

Patrolman Casterline served in the U.S. Navy before joining the Ohio State Highway Patrol, graduating from the 35th Academy class in May 1952. He was killed in the line of duty in 1953 at age 25 when his patrol vehicle was struck by a train while pursuing a fleeing car along East Kemper Road in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati.

"HB 432 is a tribute to Patrolman Casterline, who put his life on the line to make Ohio safer," said Representative Miller, who jointly sponsored the bill with Representative Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Township). "We recognize the courage and dedication of our law enforcement officers who protect us every single day,"

The designation applies to the portion of East Kemper Road between Tri-County Parkway and Lebanon Road.

House Bill 432 now moves to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
