The University of New Mexico recently recognized 418 Lobo faculty and staff, celebrating employees with 15, 20, 30, and 35 years of service at the 45th Annual Service Award Recognition Ceremony. Additionally, UNM paid special recognition to several employees who had served for 40 years, and one employee with an incredible 45 years of service to the University.
"The university represents a cross section of cultures and backgrounds and could not function without our hardworking faculty and staff, who make UNM a beautiful and welcoming campus," said Kevin Stevenson, vice president of Human Resources, during his opening remarks.
"This is a ceremony intended to honor your service and to thank you for your dedication to UNM as you celebrate this major milestone," said UNM President Garnett S. Stokes. "As a university, we are grateful to you for your accomplishments, and even more pleased that you have chosen to give UNM your expertise, service, and enthusiasm year after year. We are proud to be with you today to celebrate your time in service as a Lobo."
The honorees collectively contributed an impressive 8,805 years of service to the University.
"At UNM, people are and always will be our greatest asset," said Kevin Stevenson, vice president of Human Resources. "We know that the continued success of UNM is dependent upon our employees."
