CONGRESSMAN CLEO FIELDS CONDEMNS 'CATAHOULA CRUNCH' IMMIGRATION RAIDS IN LOUISIANA

Baton Rouge - Today, Congressman Fields stated that he strongly condemns the Trump Administration's recent overreaching immigration raids in Louisiana known as the "Catahoula Crunch."

There have been multiple reports of American citizens and protected status immigrants being unlawfully and forcefully detained without due process across the state of Louisiana. These individuals are frequently being harassed and arrested at their places of work and worship, intimidated in their own neighborhoods, and taken into custody while attempting to comply with their regularly scheduled immigration check-ins.

"These unconscionable actions taken by masked individuals who refuse to identify themselves run contrary to the constitutional principles of due process and fair treatment under the law," said Congressman Fields. "This administration's 'shoot first, ask questions later' approach reeks of authoritarianism and defies the very foundation of our democracy."
