Reporters Without Borders (RSF), Europeans Without Borders (ESF) and Cartooning for Peace (CFP) are joining forces to mark World Press Freedom Day on 3 May. Through short animated films created from the work of renowned press cartoonists, the Caricartoons campaign highlights the importance of press freedom and denounces the pressures faced by journalists around the world.

The Caricartoons campaign celebrates press freedom through a series of three committed editorial cartoons, produced by CFP member cartoonists: Côté (Canada), Zehra (Turkey) and Zlatkovsky(Russia). Some of them have experienced censorship in their home countries.

The campaign is being launched to coincide with World Press Freedom Day - a key moment to raise awareness of the threats facing press freedom and to convey strong, universal messages, accessible in several languages, about the importance of protecting those who keep us informed.

The campaign draws on a broad network of supporters and partners - PATHE, CGR, FRANCE TÉLÉVISIONS, FRANCE 24, TRACE TV, LCP, PUBLIC SÉNAT, CANAL+ and their digital platforms - to amplify the campaign's reach.
