UCLA joins the wider Los Angeles community in hosting and participating in a variety of events this Pride Month, from an Oscar Wilde literary conference to a family-friendly drag story hour at the Fowler Museum at UCLA. With celebrations on campus and around Southern California, these programs will honor and support LGBTQ+ communities by uplifting art, advocating for health, and recognizing contributions and achievements.

Celebrate Pride with UCLA Health at events across Southern California
UCLA Health will participate in several community-centered events in the Southland this June, including the WeHo Pride parade and street fair, the Westwood Village Pride celebration, the LA Pride Village and Parade, and others as far as Mammoth Lakes in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. UCLA Health's presence is part of an effort to promote LGBTQ+ health and wellness initiatives and showcase the system's programs and resources for the community.

Weekly dialogue: Ace and Aro Space
Join the UCLA LGBTQ Campus Resource Center for a weekly dialogue and affinity space that aims to build community with the asexual and/or aromantic spectrums.
This recurring event is free to attend but requires submitting an interest form in advance.
June 5, 12:00 p.m.
Join the UCLA LGBTQ Campus Resource Center every Friday at noon to watch queer films and television. Snacks and art supplies will be provided.
This free program will take place at the center. No RSVP required.
June 5, 3:30 p.m.
Conversation, community and collective care
The LGBTQ Campus Resource Center will host a weekly QTBIPOC space, intentionally created for community members of different and similar lived experiences to decompress and practice collective care.
This recurring event is free to attend but requires submitting an interest form in advance.

Oscar Wilde's Modernist Legacies: A livestreamed two-day conference
UCLA's Joseph Bristow, a distinguished professor of English, will co-host a conference exploring the life and work of Oscar Wilde, a central literary and cultural figure in the late 19th century and an originator of the Irish modernist movement. Presented by the UCLA Center for 17th- & 18th-Century Studies, the event will raise critical and theoretical awareness of Wilde's influence over modernist innovation.
Registration is now closed for in-person attendance at the UCLA William Andrews Clark Memorial Library. However, the program will be livestreamed on the Center's YouTube Channel. No registration is required to watch.

March with Bruins at the WeHo Pride Parade
Join UCLA Residential Life in marching in this year's West Hollywood Pride Parade. Food and transportation will be provided.
Open to the UCLA community. More information will be provided upon registration.

PRIDE at the Fowler: All ages Drag Story Hour
The Fowler Museum will host author and drag queen Lil Miss Hot Mess for an hour of reading, singing and dancing. This family-friendly program will feature a reading from children's books "If You're a Drag Queen and You Know It" and "The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish." Attendees are encouraged to dress in vibrant colors and sing along at this creative community event.
This event will take place at the Fowler Museum at UCLA. Admission is free, but advanced registration is required.

Lavender Extravaganza: Celebrations and award ceremony
For 29 years, the annual Lavender Extravaganza has recognized Bruins whose leadership, achievements and contributions have supported the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and aromantic community at UCLA. The event will include remarks by student celebrants, a keynote speaker, an awards presentation and more.
Lavender Extravaganza will take place at Korn Convocation Hall. Registration for participation by graduating seniors is now closed, but members of the Bruin community are encouraged to attend as audience members.
