Elevators temporarily out of service in Short Street, Plaza parking garages
(COLUMBIA, MO) - Two downtown parking garages have elevators that are temporarily out of service: Eighth and Walnut Plaza Parking Garage, 17 N. Eighth St., and Short Street Parking Garage, 1110 E. Walnut St.
Both garages remain open and fully functional for parking. One elevator remains operational at each garage and stairs are also available for customers who are able to use them.
Eighth and Walnut Plaza Parking Garage
The elevator on the southwest corner of the garage will be out of service for two months or longer for maintenance and repairs. During this outage, customers should use the elevator on the southeastern corner of the building.
Short Street Parking Garage
The elevator on the northwestern corner of the garage will be out of service for an indefinite period for maintenance and repairs. During this outage, customers should use the elevator on the southwestern corner of the building.
Accessibility
All areas of both garages remain accessible by wheelchair. Customers who require an elevator should use the operational elevator at each garage to access all parking levels and other areas of the garage.
Technicians have been notified about both elevator issues, and plans are being developed for the required maintenance. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
