MASON COUNTY, WV - Today, Senator Jim Justice released the following statement after visiting Nucor Steel, one of America's leading steel manufacturers:

"Nucor has been an unbelievable partner to West Virginia since we began this journey together years ago. When I reflect on my time as Governor, landing Nucor in West Virginia as the state's largest investment in our history is a shining moment that everybody should be proud of. This state-of-the-art facility is the result of practical investment in our people's off-the-chart potential - and represents a true revival in this part of the country. I hope I'm back here to celebrate with Nucor when this facility is ready to go, because this is a massive accomplishment in the next chapter of both Nucor and the state of West Virginia. There is nothing better than American steel, and nothing better than steel made right here at home," said Senator Jim Justice.

BACKGROUND:

• As the Governor of West Virginia, Senator Justice announced that Nucor Steel selected Mason County as the site for their facility.
• Senator Justice helped secure a $75 million investment to support Nucor Corporation's additional $800 million investment in the Mason County sheet mill.
• This brought the total investment to $3.5 billion, marking the largest economic development investment in both the state's and the company's history.
