Randy Travis Debuts Heartfelt Ballad From The Vault Dedicated To Wife Mary

Randy Travis debuted a "sure-to-be-treasured" ballad on Friday (October 16).

The legendary country artist, 67, wrote "I Know Where I'd Be Without You" with Michael Curtis and Bergen White. It's one of his latest tracks to arrive from the vault, appearing on Travis' soon-to-release record that marks his first collection of new original music in 18 years.

"The singer reflects on how he once thought he didn't need anybody, until love showed up and changed everything," according to a press release issued Friday morning. "Now he knows how much he depends on that person for happiness and support, and he admits pride can keep people from appreciating the blessings right in front of them. It's a song of gratitude and love, and of knowing life would be much harder without love.

"For Randy, that person is Mary," states a caption on the country legend's Instagram account. "This one's dedicated to the woman who's stood by his side through it all, and for anyone who's been blessed with a love they can't imagine life without. If you loved 'Forever and Ever, Amen,' you'll love this one."

"I'd be back on the bottom with no hill to climb/ If not for your love, I'd be out of my mind/ I can't see the future but given that view/ I know where I'd be without you"

"I Know Where I'd Be Without You" is the opening track of Travis' upcoming album, Same Old Way. So far, he's also released "Fish On," "I Don't Care," "Set The Blues Back," and the title track. The 12-track album features songs that "span Randy's distinguished recording career from 1986 to 2013," according to a previous press release. Many "weren't sure (an album) would ever be possible again," following Travis' stroke in 2013. The stroke left Travis with lasting damage to the part of his brain that controls speech and language. In recent years, he's released a few singles with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence). Mary told iHeartCountry in 2024 that "it was so beautiful to hear that voice. "
