Baker Donelson's Bruce McMullen Admitted to American College of Trial Lawyers

Bruce McMullen, managing shareholder of Baker Donelson's Memphis office, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America.

The induction ceremony at which Mr. McMullen became a Fellow took place before an audience of approximately 950 during the recent Annual Meeting of the College in Washington, D.C.

Mr. McMullen concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, class action defense, health care litigation, tort liability, and municipal law. He has extensive experience defending large corporations and businesses in complex litigation matters. Mr. McMullen has represented hospitals and health care facilities in medical malpractice actions, as well as national insurance carriers in coverage and bad-faith denial disputes. He also has broad experience in governmental entity defense.

Mr. McMullen served a four-year term as Chief Legal Officer for the City of Memphis while simultaneously maintaining his practice at Baker Donelson. During his tenure, he oversaw the legal and logistical strategy for the removal of Confederate monuments from Memphis parks in 2017. He was recognized in 2023 with the National Bar Association's A.A. Latting Award, honoring individuals for outstanding community service and legal excellence. In 2020, he was honored with the MLK Luminary Award, which recognizes attorneys who champion civil rights in Memphis, and with the Memphis Bar Association's Judge Jerome Turner Lawyer's Lawyer Award.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, Mr. McMullen has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2009 and Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2012, and he is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
