Arianna Royster is the 26th inductee into the NAA Hall of Fame
Arlington, Va. | May 5, 2026 -The National Apartment Association (NAA) has announced the upcoming induction of Arianna Royster, CPM, industry veteran and former president of Borger Residential, into the NAA Hall of Fame. Royster will accept the recognition - the highest association honor that can be bestowed upon a rental housing professional - during Apartmentalize, NAA's annual conference and exposition, June 17-19 in New Orleans.
"It is truly an incredible honor to be inducted into the National Apartment Association's Hall of Fame, I am both humbled and grateful to be recognized," said Royster. It has always been important to me to create space and opportunity for underrepresented individuals and rising industry professionals. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege to be a mentor, focusing on making an impact on people's lives. Now more than ever, I believe that in this industry, we must champion strong housing policies and find new ways to inspire others."
For more than 35 years, Royster's career has been defined by meaningful results and servant leadership. At Borger, her vision and strategy helped grow the company across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia with a focus on innovation and accountability. A powerful industry advocate, Royster testified before Congress in 2023 on behalf of nearly 100,000 NAA and National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) members. Royster united lawmakers across the aisle to emphasize bipartisan, supply-side solutions. She influenced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to add private-sector statistics to its Fair Market Rent methodology and helped the Yes In My Backyard (YIMBY) Act advance later that year.
Beyond the company and policy wins that Royster helped drive forward, her impact across the NAA federation is unparalleled. In particular, Royster was a founding force behind today's NAA Voices committee, where she directly helped the association expand its reach and empower more individuals from all backgrounds. With mentorship as the focus, she has played a key role in the career advancements of countless industry leaders. In 2024, Royster served as a co-chair for Apartmentalize, the industry's flagship conference, where her leadership helped attract an impressive 39% first-time attendee rate. At the state and local levels, Royster has also led the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA) as president and current board member where she received the Sidney Glassman award, the affiliates highest honor.
"Arianna's career has and continues to make an incredible impact, led by integrity and dedication - and truly shows an unwavering commitment to service and community," said NAA President and CEO Bob Pinnegar. "Her leadership has lifted others up and directly built many of NAA's most important and effective initiatives. NAA congratulates Arianna on this well-deserved recognition honoring her work and legacy across rental housing. Our industry is undoubtedly stronger because of her leadership."
