Working Fire Box 45-21

On the evening of June 2, 2026, a "working fire" was ordered for 803 Cambridge Street, a 3-story, brick & wood, mixed occupancy building. Arriving with smoke showing, companies quickly established water supplies, advanced attack lines, initiated searches for any occupants, & opened up. All searches for residents were negative. Everyone had safely evacuated.

Sprinklers initially operated to contain the fire in contents until arrival of the fire department. Final extinguishment, overhauling and ventilation was quickly completed.


The cause was under investigation.

Engines 5, 3, 1, 2, & Somerville 3; Ladders 2, 1, & 3; Squads 3, 2, & 4 Rescue 1; H2; C7; Somerville C3; and Divisions 1 & 2 are operated at the fire.

Initial time: 1927 hours (727 pm)

is stood by for any potential medical issues.

Inspectional Services & Eversource also responded.

MBTA diverted bus traffic in the area.

No injuries were reported at the time of the fire.
